Amidst the effervescence of the Colombian music scene and at a time when talent and creativity span several generations of musicians, Sebastián Carrizosa possesses almost 15 years of professional growth as a guitarist, composer, and performer on the Bogotá, Colombia artistic circuit.

Sebastián’s personal and professional explorations draw on a wide range of influences. His endeavors range from the classical school of jazz music, through the raw sounds of noise and punk rock, to the polyrhythmic sounds native to the Caribbean and West Africa, to the manifestation of common meeting points via the sophistication of pop. Deep connections between contemplation, introspection, and unrestrained experimentation beyond the established norms are creative processes throughout each of Sebastian’s projects. Such elements are evidenced across each of his respective projects.

These creative philosophies manifest themselves as a fundamental axis in the rhythmic bases of projects such as La BOA. Likewise, his compositions and arrangements with KoKodrilo highlight his compositional complexity. At the same time, his subtle yet fundamental contributions take shape in the conceptualization of new ideas as part of Soy Emilia Sebastián has often experienced a creative torrent that has empowered him in creating a furious, wild, and profound collection of songs throughout his career. In other moments, according to the broader creative environment, this strength has been adequately adapted depending on colleagues' creative direction and roles.Nevertheless, the originality imbued with such contributions has often afforded him a clearer sense of his function within each project. Together with each collective composition, every stage and collaboration demonstrates both the eclectic dimensions through which he moves and his capacity to adapt to different ecosystems.

He currently resides in Berlin, where he finished his master's degree in creative music production at Catalyst University. He is presently the guitarist of the surf band Anatolian Saturno 4000, part of the Batov Records label. Additionally, he developed his solo project focused on exploring Afro-Colombian music and how it can build bridges with electronic music through improvisation, passing through rhythms such as cumbia, drum and bass, and ambient.
